Boateng celebrated his 27th birthday today at the Germany national team training camp.

The 26-year-old missed his last game with Arsenal against Newcastle United after picking up a minor knee injury.

Özil remains a doubt for the Germany national team games against Poland and Scotland in the European Championship 2016 qualifiers.

The Arsenal playmaker was part of the Germany side that won the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

Özil is one of three players in the Germany national team of Turkish origin. The others being Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan and Liverpool youngster Emre Can.

The Turkish national side also has several players born in Germany playing for the national team including Bayer Leverkusen wonder-kid Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Galatasaray defender Hakan Balta and Beşiktaş winger Gökhan Töre.
