Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to wish his injured teammates a speedy recovery.
Sami Khedira came off injured in the second half and has been ruled out of the rest of the competition with a groin injury. Besiktas striker Mario Gomez also came off in the second half with a hamstring injury.
Bastian Schweinsteiger also picked up an injury and is a doubt for Germany’s semi final clash.
Ozil took to Instagram to wish the trio a speedy recovery and included the following caption, “Get well soon to my 3 @dfb_team mates!.”
Ozil scored Germany’s only goal in regulation time but when it was his turn to score in the penalty shoot out he missed. The Germany international has now missed both his penalty efforts at Euro 2016 and four of his last five penalties for club and country.
Germany take on the hosts France in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 next week.
