Mesut Ozil Arsenal v Everton - Premier League Arsenal 3-4-1-2

Arsenal star Mesut Özil wished the Turkish national team the best of luck ahead of their Euro 2016 Group A final game against Iceland tomorrow.

Turkey beat Czech Republic 2-0 in their penultimate game to remain in third place two points ahead of the Netherlands going into the last game.

Özil was quoted by the Milliyet as saying: “I wish Turkey the best of luck, I have many friends playing for the team and wish them all the best.”

Turkey need just a point against Iceland to qualify for the playoffs and could make it directly to Euro 2016 with a win depending on the results from other groups.

The Germany international of Turkish origin starred in the 2-1 win over Georgia yeserday to book a place in the tournament this summer.

Özil is one of three ethnic Turks in the current Germany national team with the other two being Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan and the other Liverpool star Emre Can.

Turkey also has several players born in Germany in the current national team including Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Çalhanoğlu, defender Hakan Balta and winger Gökhan Töre among others.
