Arsenals Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to bemoan missing a penalty during Germany’s 3-0 win over Slovakia in Euro 2016.

The 27-year-old play a staring role in his sides victory but missed his chance to score his first goal of the tournament from the penalty spot.

Ozil uploaded a picture to his official Instagram account with the following caption, “Yeeeees!!! Through to last 8!!! Should definitely have converted the penalty… But still a sovereign 3:0 victory due to a strong team performance.”

Germany are unbeaten in the competition so far after also defeating Ukraine and Northern Island are playing out a scoreless draw with Poland.

The Arsenal playmaker has provided one assist in four games for Germany so far in Euro 2016 but could have had a few more had his team-mates been less profligate against Northern Ireland in their final group game.

Liverpool’s Emre Can was left out of the starting line-up once again and is yet to make an appearance at Euro 2016 this summer.
