Arsenal star’s agent promises to hold talks with Euro giants in January

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil continues to be linked with an Emirates exit.

Ozil has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to reach an agreement over a new deal.

As things stand rival clubs will be able to enter talks with the 28-year-old in January.

Reports in Turkey claim that Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has promised Besiktas that talks will be held in January.

The Fanatik newspaper claim that the star playmaker is open to the idea of playing in Turkey and that his representatives are impressed with Besiktas’ project.

The Black Eagles have one the league title for the past two seasons and currently sit top of the Champions League Group G after two games.

The report also claims that Ozil is considering moving to Istanbul after getting married to Amine Gulse.

The Turkish sports newspaper do stress that attempts to sign Ozil could be scuppered if Manchester United put in an offer.

Besiktas will want to sign Ozil as a free agent next summer but can strike a deal in January.
