Arsenal team news: Players alarmed by midfield star’s lack of effort in last year of his contract
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil could be nearing a move away from the north London-based club.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined in recent weeks with an injury and came under harsh criticism following his missed chance against Watford FC on Saturday.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, staff at Arsenal are concerned with the playmaker’s commitment in training. Per the source, Ozil’s teammates are also alarmed by the former Real Madrid star’s lack of effort.

Unless Arsenal manage to strike a new deal with Ozil, he could end up leaving the club for free next summer. The Gunners may even opt to sell Ozil during the January transfer window in order to recoup some of the £42 million they spent on him back in 2013.
Arsenal take on Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday week before heading up north to face Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
