Arsenal team news: Wenger suffers major injury blow ahead of Doncaster clash

Arsenal take on Doncaster in the Caraboa Cup third-round clash at the Emirates on Wednesday 20 September.

The Gunners are coming off the back of an impressive result against Chelsea over the weekend, holding the Premier League champions to a goalless draw.

Arsene Wenger will however, be without star playmaker Mesut Ozil for the League Cup clash.

Wenger revealed that Ozil has a knee injury and that he will not be available for the cup game.

“Mesut is training again, but for tomorrow no [he will not feature]. He has a little inflammation of his knee,” Wenger was quoted as saying on the official Arsenal website.

Danny has a scan today, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break. Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly.

The Gunners will also be without forward Danny Welbeck who has a groin injury.

The England international will be out until the international break as will Francis Coquelin but Debuchy is on the road to recovery.

“Danny has a scan today, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break. Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly,” he added.
