Arsenal transfer news: Barcelona plot shock £55m bid for Gunners star, move depends on Liverpool’s Coutinho
Barcelona are preparing a late move for Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
The 28-year-old’s future at the north London-based club appears to be uncertain. Ozil has under 12 months left on his contract with Arsenal.
According to the Spanish outlet Cadena Cope, Barcelona are planning a last gasp swoop for the World Cup winner.
Per the source, if Barca are unable to land Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, they will table a bid for Arsenal’s Ozil.
The report goers onto state that Arsenal have placed a £55 million price tag on the Germany international.
Liverpool meanwhile have – so far – resisted all bids from Barcelona for Coutinho.

Ozil joined Arsenal for £42 million from Real Madrid back in September 2013. The 28-year-old has won three FA Cup trophies during his time at the Gunners.
Arsenal suffered a shock 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool last weekend and will be looking to bounce back when they take on Bournemouth on September 9.
