Both Mesut Ozil and Emre Can have been left out of the starting line-up’s for Arsenal’s clash with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is facing a crisis in defence with Koscielny, Mertesacker and Gabriel all out.

Liverpool welcome back Emre Can who starts on the bench after only managing first half displays over the pre-season. The 22-year-old joined pre-season training late following a lengthy Euro 2016 campaign.

Elsewhere Daniel Sturridge and James Milner miss the game with injuries.Goalkeeper Loris Karius is also out injured while Mamadou Sakho is out with an achilles injury.

Arsenal have a pretty impressive track record against Liverpool having lost just on of their last nine Premier League meetings against the Reds.

Liverpool have won just the once in their last 20 visits to face the Gunners but will be facing a weakened back-line this time around.
