Arsenal v Liverpool probable lineups – Wenger missing star midfielder while Klopp faces injury worries

Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night as they look to extend their winning run of games. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 (GMT).

The Gunners come into the game in a confident mood following a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League and a 1-0 victory over West Ham United in the League Cup.

Arsenal suffered a major injury blow during the week after France international Olivier Giroud was forded off. The star striker suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to miss the Gunners’ festive fixtures. Aaron Ramsey will also miss the Liverpool clash with the same injury.

Mesut Ozil is expected to return to the starting lineup after being rested during the week against West Ham. The 29-year-old scored Arsenal’s only goal during their win over Newcastle last weekend.

Liverpool meanwhile will be without Alberto Moreno due to an ankle injury while defender Joel Matip is a slight doubt.
