Arsenal 'want to extend' Mesut Ozil's contract

Mesut Ozil’s management company have confirmed that Arsenal want to extend the 27-year-old’s contract.

The27-year-old’s current deal with the Gunners expires in 2018. According to the Sun, Ozil was in talks over £160,000-a-week in deal which will keep him at Arsenal until 2019.

“It is known and correct that Arsenal want to extend their contract with Mesut,” Ozil’s management company told Bild (via Goal)

Ozil joined Arsenal for a club record €42 million from Real Madrid back in September 2013.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has been in impressive form this season with six goals in all competitions as well as 16 assists in the Premier League.

Arsenal side are currently joint second in the Premier League with rivals Tottenham. The Gunners’ are five points behind leaders Leicester City.

Ozil’s side have the opportunity to reduce the gap to just two points when they take on Leicester this weekend in the league.
