Mesut Özil has been in great form for Arsenal so good in fact that even players on rival teams have had to admit just how impressive he has been.
Tottenham star Cristien Erikson was quoted by the Metro as saying: “I used to watch him when I was at Ajax and he was at Real Madrid.
“It’s a joke how good he is.”
Özil provided yet another assist in the Gunners 3-1 win over Sunderland in the Premier League at the Emirates today.
The victory took the north London based side just two points behind league leaders Leicester City.
The Gunners star has provided 12 assists already in the Premier League this season which is the highest in Europe’s top five leagues – England, France, Spain, Italy and Germany.
Özil has already provided the most assists for the Gunners in a single season since Cesc Fabregas’ setup 13 goals in 2009-10.
The World Cup winner has had a hand in the north London based sides last 14 league games – 12 assists and two goals.
