Arsene Wenger wants to keep Podolski at Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that he wants to keep Lukas Podolski at the Emirates this season.

However, the Germany international is still keen on a move away from the North London based side after Wenger could not guarantee him a starting position.

We had good talks with Wenger,” Podolski’s agent, Nassim Touihri told the Guardian.

“He wanted to keep Lukas at Arsenal but could not guarantee him a starting position.

“That’s why we agreed to make a transfer.”

Podolski is set to sign a three-year deal with Galatasaray according to Eurosport TR. The Germany international will earn a total of €4.5 million per season (including bonuses).

The 30-year-old forwardwho has a year remaining on his contract with Arsenal, had an unsuccessful spell with the Serie A giants scoring just one league goal.

Podolski won the World Cup with Germany last season and wants regular first team football to keep his place in the national team side.
