Aston Villa ace striker deal with newly promoted Turkish league side, two-year deal set to be signed

Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho has been closely linked with a move to Turkey over recent weeks.

The former Liverpool man was nearing a move to Goztepe but fellow newly promoted side Yeni Malatyaspor have swooped in and struck a deal.

Turkish-Football can confirmed that a two-year contract agreement has been reached.

Malatyaspor head coach Ertugrul Saglam is reported to have given the board the all clear to push ahead with the transfer.

Cissokho is expected to arrive in Turkey over the next few days and complete the move.

The left-back has 12 months left on his Villa contract but the Championship outfit do not have plans for him next season.

The 29-year-old has experience playing at Porto, Lyon and Valencia but will play in Turkey for the first time if he completes his move to Malatyaspor.

Cissokho was loaned out to Olympiakos last season where he won the Greek league title.
