Aston Villa ace set to arrive in Turkey ahead of completing transfer

Aston Villa ace Aly Cissokho is set to arrive in Turkey ahead of completing his move to Goztepe according to Fotomac.

The Turkish sports newspaper claim that the 29-year-old will be given a tour of the grounds and the city of Izmir.

Per the source, negotiations have reached an advanced stage and if final talks go to plan Cissokho will undergo a medical.

The left-back has 12 months remaining on his current deal with the Championship outfit.

The Birmingham Mail recently reported Cissokho has been deemed surplus to requirements at Villa and that the player does not want to return either.

Cissokho has a wealth of experience playing for French giants Lyon, Liverpool as well as Valencia over the past few years.

The France international spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympiakos.

Goztepe have been promoted from the Turkish second-tier and are owned by oil tycoon Mehmet Sepil.

Sepil founded Genel Energy in 2001 to extract oil from Northern Iraq.

The company now has 6 fields in Northern Iraq and an earlier venture, Epik Construction, did infrastructure work in Kosovo and Afghanistan.
