Aston Villa v Liverpool – probable starting lineups – Emre Can expected to start

Liverpool travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa today in the Premier League.

The Red’s will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing draw to Sunderland last weekend. Villa picked up  a crucial win over Norwich last weekend but remain in last place with just 16 points in 25 games.

Emre Can is expected to keep his place in Liverpool’s starting line-up today.

The Germany international was rested for Liverpool’s mid-week clash with West Ham United in the FA Cup. Can has played a major role in the Red’s midfield since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool can move up to eighth place in the league with a win over Villa.

Can has provided one assist and scored one goal in 34 appearances for Liverpool this season.

Aston Villa confirmed lineup: Bunn; Richards, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho; Gana, Westwood, Bacuna; Gil, Veretout, Agbonlahor
Subs: Guzan, Clark, Sinclair, Richardson, Hutton, Lyden, Davis.

Liverpool confirmed lineup: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Milner, Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge
Subs: Ward, Benteke, Caulker, Origi, Ibe, Stewart, Flanagan
