Başakşehir manager Abdullah Avcı underlined that his side are on course to securing a European spot following their goalless draw against Beşiktaş.
“We had as many chances as Beşiktaş did, it was an important point and we are still in the race for Europe,” Avcı told Lig Tv.
Başakşehir joined fourth placed Bursaspor on 44 points following the 0-0 draw.
The Istanbul based side remain in 5th place only on goal difference.
Bursaspor have scored the highest number of goals in the league this season – 52.
The Istanbul minnows will have to finish the league in fourth place to secure a place in the Europa league next season.
Başakşehir have the best defensive record in the league, the Istanbul minnows have only conceded 18 goals all season.
Avcı’s side have only let in eight goals in on the road – fewer than all other Süper Lig sides.
The Istanbul based side have also kept the highest number of clean sheets in the league – 14.
