Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba revealed that the Süper Lig reminds him of the English Premier League due to how physical it is in a recent interview with TRT.

“I have played in what is widely accepted as the best league in the world, the Premier League,” Ba said.

“The Turkish league reminds me of the English Premier league because the physical clashes in the matches are at the highest level.

“I knew it would be a physical league but I analyse my opposition before every game and that has helped me settle in and adapt to the league.”

Ba also revealed that he believes Beşiktaş are title contenders but underlined that it is still too early to talk about who will win the league.

“We are still at the beginning of the league campaign,” Ba said.

“It is still too early to talk about who will be champion, of course we would love to be crowned champs but we have to focus on each game.

“We have to focus on winning every game we can.

“We have a problem not having a home stadium and that obviously is a disadvantage.

“Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have a home and enjoy fantastic support in their stadiums so we have to fight even harder to overcome this.”

Ba joined Beşiktaş for £6 million from Chelsea last season and already has 7 goals and two assists for the Black Eagles this season.
