Barcelona star Arda Turan has taken a break from his Euro 2016 preparations with Turkey to tell the Daily Star his all-time best European Championship XI.
Turan included a few Barcelona players including current teammate Andres Iniesta.
The bearded winger did not however, pick any players form former clubs Atletico Madrid or Galatasaray.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry made it as Turan’s number one pick upfront and was joined by Marco van Basten. The only other former Premier League player was Cristiano Ronaldo.
The defence was comprised of Italian legends Buffon and Paolo Maldini. Franz Beckenbauer, Carles Puyol and former Juventus star Lilian Thuram also made the cut at the back.
The midfielder included Xavi, Barcelona teammate Iniesta and Zinedine Zidane.
Turan has yet to win a European Championship but was part of the Turkey side that reached the Euro 2008 semi-final – perhaps he just may go one step further this time around.
The full all-time Euro 2016 XI:
Buffon, Lilian Thuram, Franz Beckenbauer, Paolo Maldini, Carles Puyol, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco van Basten, Thierry Henry
