Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is set to give Arda Turan a new role at Barcelona following a difficult start to his Camp Nou career.
According to the Spanish newspaper Sport, Enrique will deploy Turan on the left wing this season, rather than the central midfield position he played last season.
The Turkish international struggled in his first season after making a £34 million move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid.
Turan didn’t make his debut for his first six months at due to a transfer ban imposed on the club by UEFA.
The 29-year-old subsequently struggled to reach full match fitness in the closing months of the league.
Turan season went further south when he went onto have a poor Euro 2016 tournament with the Turkish national team. The flamboyant midfielder was heavily criticised after Turkey were eliminated in the group stages.
However, Sport state that Luis Enrique hasn’t given up on Turan and called him back from his summer holiday to begin training early ahead of the upcoming season.
