Barcelona extended their unbeaten run to 34 games shattering the 26 year old record previously held by rivals Real Madrid following their 5-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 33 this season. Ivan Rakitic also found the net before being replaced by Arda Turan in the second half who scored his first goal for Barca.
We took a look at social media to get a feel of what Turan’s fans made of him breaking his duck.
Let’s start with the moment Turan was sent off for a rash challenge on 77 minutes. Thankfully the referee realised he made an error and rescinded his red card for a yellow allowing the bearded winger to stay on the field.
The decision proved critical for the bearded winger as he went onto score his first goal for Barcelona since joining from Atletico Madrid over the summer.

Turan has had a while to wait for his first Barcelona goal but it was well worth the wait as Turan found the back of the net with a brilliant flying header.
459 – @ArdaTuran's first goal for Barcelona is also his first La Liga goal since Nov 30, 2014 (Atleti v Deportivo, 459 days ago). Debut.

Even Barca legend Patrick Kluivert sung his praises.

The goal went down particularly well in Turkey. One tweeter even called for a national holiday to be declared.
This pretty much summed up the mood felt after the goal.
