Barcelona recorded a 6-0 victory over Sporting to remain at the top of the La Liga yesterday evening.
The Turkish international Arda Turan overcame a stomach inflammation to be included in the squad and come on as a substitute in the 75th minute.
We took a look at how social media reacted to the performance of Turan. The 29-year-old did not start for Barcelona but came on in place of Ivan Rakitic midway though the second half. Turan received support from the majority of his fans.

However, Turan once again got trolled after the game as one of the reasons he gave for leaving Atleti was to lift the Champions League – despite reaching the final of the competition back in 2014.
The Turkish international thought he had a better chance at winning European football’s most prestigious title but he ended up being knocked out against the side he left to pursue his dreams.

Leo Messi opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Luiz Suarez went onto score four goals. Neymar scored Barcelona’s remaining goal.
Barcelona remain at the top of the Spanish league on goal difference after both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid recorded wins this weekend.
