Barcelona star Arda Turan reveals he is a Roger Federer fan

Barcelona star Arda Turan revealed he has a passion for tennis and a particular tennis player in particular ahead of the Australian Open final in Melbourne yesterday.

Turan revealed that he has a soft spot for Roger Federer and tweeted his discontent at the sporting legend being eliminated at the semi-final stage of the tournament.

It is not the first time the Turkish international winger has confessed being a fan of Federer in a recent interview with the Turkish Health and Sports Ministry magazine, Gençlik Spor Dergisi he admitted having a soft spot for the Swiss star – as well as Basketball legend Michael Jordan.

“I always strive to improve, the best sportsmen and women always strive to be better, that is why Michael Jordan and Federer are my idols,” Turan was quoted as saying.

Federer has won 17 Grand Slam singles titles and has featured in each Grand Slam Final at least five times over the course of his career.

The Swiss tennis player was knocked out of the 2016 Australian Open semi-finals against the eventual winner Novak Djokovic.
