Barcelona star Arda Turan has revealed that he has advanced his knowledge of Spanish and that he hopes to become fluent by the time the transfer ban ends in January.
Turan joined has been in Spain for four-years but has yet to learn Spanish but he hopes to brush up on his language skills over the next four months as he will have plenty of time on his hands.
“I am improving my Spanish, I will have a lot of time over the next four months so hopefully my girlfriend can teach me English as well,” Turan told the Akşam newspaper.
The bearded winger cannot play club football until January due to the FIFA imposed transfer ban on Barcelona.
Turan has moved into a house in Barcelona and has been busy settling into his new surroundings.
The Turkish international was expected to move on loan but the La Liga champions boss Luis Enrique insisted he stay to adapt to the Barcelona footballing philosophy.
Turan has been able to maintain a degree of match fitness due to the Turkish national team games and recently featured in the 1-1 draw against Latvia and the 3-0 win over the Netherlands.
