Barcelona star Arda Turan has wished Turkish national team manager Fatih Terim a happy birthday.
Terim turned 62 today but did not get the kind of birthday present he was hoping for as Turkey were held to a 1-1 draw against Latvia at the Konya Torku Arena.
Turan was 12 when he first came into contact with Terim and the bearded winger thanked the experienced coach for everything he learned under his stewardship via his Instagram page.
The Crescent-Stars still managed to close the gap with third placed Netherlands to just one point as the Dutch were beaten at home by Iceland at the Amsterdam Arena.
Turkey take on the Dutch side next at the Konya Torku Arena needing a win to overtake the Netherlands and move into the play-off spot.
The Dutch side will be without the injured Arjen Robben and Indi is suspended after being sent off in the 1-0 defeat against Iceland on Thursday 3 September.
