Barcelona v Arsenal: Arda Turan could make Champions League debut

Arda Turan

Turkish international Arda Turan could make his Champions League debut for Barcelona against Arsenal in the Champions League Last 16 second-leg match at the Camp Nou.

Barca won the first-leg at the Emirates 2-0 and have won their last nine Champions League games at the Camp Nou.

Turan missed the first leg due to serving a suspension dating back to last season when he was sent off against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final stage while playing for former team Atletico Madrid.

The bearded winger has however, been included in the Barcelona squad changes for the competition. UEFA permits sides that have reached the Last 16 stage to register three new players and added their summer signing to the list.

Turan joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid over the summer but had to wait six-months due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club before he could make his official debut.

The 29-year-old has played regularly since his debut and Barca have won all 15 games in which he has featured.

Turan has four assists and two goals to his name this season and scored a bicycle kick on the weekend in the 6-0 victory over Getafe.

The last time Arsenal won in Spain was 10 years ago against Real Madrid. Barcelona meanwhile are unbeaten in 37 matches in all competitions.
