Barcelona want to hold talks with Arsenal over the possibility of signing Mesut Ozil according to the German newspaper Bild.
The daily tabloid goes onto state that the La Liga champions will will use their imminent trip to London to do so.
The latest article from Bild comes amid reports suggesting that Ozil had rejected a new contract offer from Arsenal.
However, the Telegraph claimed that Arsenal are ‘confident‘ Ozil will remain at Arsenal and sign a contract extension despite interest from Barcelona.
The Germany international’s current deal with Arsenal expires in 2018. According to the Sun, Ozil was in talks over £160,000-a-week in deal which will keep him at Arsenal until 2019.
Arsenal host Barcelona at the Emeritus stadium in the UEFA Champions league next week.
Ozil has been in impressive form this season with six goals in all competitions as well as 17 assists in the Premier League – the highest in the league.
