Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 5-1 to extend their unbeaten run to 35 games overtaking the previous record.
Lionel Messi was once again the star of the show scoring a hat-trick taking his season tally to 33 goals. Ivan Rakitic also found the back of the net as did Turkish international Arda Turan.
Turan scored his first goal since joining Barca from Atletico Madrid and did it in style with a flying header just before the final whistle.

The goal was his first La Liga goal since scoring for the Rojiblancos against Deportivo 457 days on Nov 30, 2014.
Barca have also now won all 13 games in which Turan has featured for the reigning La Liga champions this season.
The Spanish giants have scored 48 goals and conceded just nine goals over the 13 games Turan has played in.
Turan now has a total of three assists and one goal to his name for Barca since making his debut against rivals Espanyol in January.
