Bayer Leverkusen drew Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League group stage draw today in Monaco today at 16:45 GMT.
The Bundesliga outfit will take on the La Liga giants in Group E of the competition.
Bayer reached the Last 16 of the competition last season only to be knocked out against Atletico Madrid on penalty shoot-outs.
Barcelona won the Champions League last season but Turkish international Arda Turan will not get the chance to face his national team teammates Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Ömer Toprak as his side are currently serving a transfer ban.
The La Liga champions are unable to register new players due to the FIFA ban that is currently in place until the end of the season.
Çalhanoğlu started in the Champions League play-off second-leg round against Lazio yesterday and scored the first goal. The 21-year-old playmaker now has two goals to his name this season.
Fellow Turkish international Ömer Toprak missed the game due to injury.
