Bayern Munich captain Lahm looking forward to meeting 'old friend' Mesut Ozil ahead of Arsenal clash

Bayern Munich drew Arsenal in the Champions League group stage draw today in Monaco.

The captain of the Bundesliga champions admitted that he is looking forward to taking on his Germany national teammate Mesut Özil and Per Mertesacker.

Lahm was quoted by the BBC as saying: “It’s great that we are meeting two old friends, Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil, when we play Arsenal.”

All three players were part of the World Cup winning side in Brazil last summer but will be on opposing sides in the 2015-16 Champions League campaign.

Özil has won three trophies at Arsenal – two FA Cups and the Community Shied.

The North London based club also drew Greek champions Olympiakos and Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in Group F.
