Beşiktaş board member Ahmet Ürkmezgil has denied rumours that head coach Slaven Bilic is Premier League bound.

Ürkmezgil underlined that the reports linking Bilic with a move to England are nothing but attempts by rival clubs to disrupt Beşiktaş.

“Bilic has done a great job over the past two seasons, rumours linking Bilic with a move to England are the work of our rivals trying to ruin team spirit,” Ürkmezgil told Radyospor.

Ürkmezgil also revealed that the club are fully behind Bilic and that he has the confidence of all the board.

“Bilic has got us into the title race, we are all backing him and want him to succeed,” he added.

Beşiktaş are currently in second place, just one point behind league leaders Galatasaray.

The Black Eagles lost the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe 1-0 at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium last week.

The Turkish giants will take on Başakşehir next after the international break.
