Besiktas deserved to beat Liverpool says Slaven Bilic [divider]
Beşiktaş deserved to beat Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32 according to Slaven Bilic.
Bilic underlined that his side were the better side in the second half and revealed that he believes Beşiktaş should have won in regulation time.
“We defended good and in the second half especially it was all us and we deserved to win before the penalties to be fair,” Bilic told ITV after the game.

Demba Ba had a brilliant chance to win the tie when his shot struck the cross bar in the last minutes.
Bilic did accept that Liverpool were missing a few important players but also highlighted that the Reds still had a strong team with their key forward players all starting.
The Croatian manager praised his players for executing his game plan and preventing the Liverpool forwards from getting into space.
“There is no secret, we knew to be fair they had some problems, they did not have Gerrard, Lucas or Henderson,” he added.
“But they had tremendous quality and pace upfront, we defended well as a team and we wanted to stop them getting into 2 v 1 situations in attacking positions.”
The Europa League Last 16 draw will be held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland today.
