Besiktas enter talks with Chelsea midfielder Mikel

Beşiktaş have entered talks with Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel according to Fanatik.

The Turkish newspaper claims that Beşiktaş board member Erdal Torunoğulları is currently in negotiations the Blues over signing the Nigerian international on loan.

The Istanbul giants were closely linked Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva until Brendan Rodgers decided to keep him at the club.

The Turkish Super League outfit are currently lacking depth in central midfield following injury to Tolgay Arslan and Veli Kavlak who are both out injured until the turn of the year.

The Black Eagles have established close ties with Chelsea over the past few seasons and approached the Blues for consultation on restructuring the academy and scouting system last season.

Beşiktaş signed Demba Ba from the Blues and he proved to be a huge success scoring 27 goals in all competitions for the Black Eagles before joining Chinese giants Shanghai Shenhua on a €14 million transfer over the transfer window.
