Besiktas are preparing an offer for Real Madrid fullback Raul Arbeloa according to Turkish newspaper Sabah.
The Spanish international has fallen down the pecking order at Real. Dani Carvajal has been first choice for most of the season and the imminent arrival of Danilo would make Arbeloa’s chances of making the team even more difficult.
Besiktas are in the market for a right-back as it is a position the team lack depth in and the Black Eagles were forced to play central midfielder’s Necip Uysal and Atiba Hutchinson as a fullback at times throughout the league campaign.
The Istanbul giants could face competition from Liverpool according to the Daily Telegraph who will be looking to replace Glen Johnson over the summer.
Besiktas currently do not have a manager following the resignation of Slaven Bilic.
The Black Eagles finished the league campaign in third place and booked a direct place to the Europa League group stages.
