Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic admitted that his side lost concentration against Balıkesirspor following the Europa League Round of 32 victory over Liverpool.

The Black Eagles drew against last placed Balıkesirspor 2-2 on Sunday, missing the chance to close the gap with league leaders Galatasaray to one point.

“After our victory over Liverpool, we knew that we would have concentrations problems in this game because the Europa League match drained us out both mentally and physically,” Bilic told the official Beşiktaş website.

The Croatian manager also underlined that his side were tired after playing 120 minutes and a penalty shoot out against the Reds on Thursday.

“We twice had the lead but could not hold onto it. Our energy was not there tonight,” he added.

Beşiktaş knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League 5-4 on penalties.

Liverpool went on to beat second placed Manchester City 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday to close in on a top four space.

The Reds moved into fifth place just two points behind fourth place Manchester United.

The Black Eagles will face Belgium side Club Brugge next in the Last 16 of the competition.
