Besiktas make late move for Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul

Besiktas have made a late move for Tottenham’s out of favour centre back Younes Kaboul according to the Italian Gazzetta Sport journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

According to Tancedi, Besiktas and Tottenham are trying to tie up a late deal however, three other clubs are also understood to be in the race to sign the French international.

Beşiktaş boss Slaven Bilic has previously stated that he wants Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul according to Turkish newspaper Akşam.

“We need a right-back but I would like to see Younes Kaboul join as well,” Bilic is quoted as saying by Akşam.

Kaboul has fallen out of favour with head coach Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks and has struggled for playing time.

The experienced defender last started for Spurs against Beşiktaş in the Europa League group stages and has not played since.

The 28-year-old defender’s contract runs out in 2016.

Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig on 41 points and will face Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32.
