The Hammers were reported to have made a €7 million bid for Besiktas’ midfielder Tolgay Arslan according to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik.

The Beşiktaş star joined from HSV in January for just €500,000 in January and still has another three years left on his contract.

Arslan famously scored against Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32 clash against Liverpool and was signed by current West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

Bilic is a keen admirer of the former HSV man but a deal looks unlikely according to the latest reports.

Bilic resigned from his position as Beşiktaş manager at the end of the season after failing to win the league title and replaced Sam Allardyce as Hammers boss.
