Besiktas president in London to hold talks with £30m Arsenal target

Besiktas president Fikret Orman is currently in London where he will hold talks with representatives from Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool over the Black Eagles transfer targets.

The Istanbul giants manager Senol Gunes confirmed that Orman is currently in London to hold transfer talks.

Gunes was quoted by Turkish-football as saying: “The boss [Fikret Orman] is in London holding talks, we left transfers late last season as well.”

The Eagles priority is to find a replacement for last seasons star striker Mario Gomez who was hugely influential in winning the league title.

Gomez was however, on loan from Fiorentina and will now join Wolfsburg on a permanent deal.

The experienced forward turned around his career at Besiktas winning the league title and earning himself a place back in the Germany national team where he scored twice at Euro 2016 this summer.

Besiktas want Bony on loan as they would be unable to match City’s asking price for him due to FFP. The Eagles are banking on being able to convince City that Bony could kick star his career back into track just as Gomez did with a temporary move.

Besiktas could face competition from Arsenal who are reported to considering a £30 million bid according to the Daily Star.

Bony was left out of both City’s first game of the season against Bournemouth and the Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest.
