Besiktas target linked with a move to Chelsea

Besiktas target Victor Valdes has been linked with a move to Chelsea according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The report states that the Blues have expressed an interest in the Spain international in the wake of Thibaut Courtois’ knee injury. The Belgium international is expected to be out for at least six moths.

Valdes was expected to complete his move to Besiktas from Manchester United during the summer transfer window according to Fanatik. However, the transfer fell through.

The Spain international has fallen down the pecking order behind first-choice keeper David De Gae and Sergio Romero.

Valdes would have became the third Manchester United player to join the Turkish league this summer. Robin van Persie and Luis Nani both joined Fenerbahçe on three-year deals last month.

The Black Eagles will compete in the Europa League Group A this summer against Sporting Lisbon, Lokomotiv Moscow and Skanderbeu.
