Beşiktaş to discuss partnership with Arsenal following agreement with Chelsea 

Beşiktaş will hold talks with Arsenal regarding cooperation over the clubs academy and youth development program.

The Black Eagles will also consult with Arsenal regarding the modernisation of club youth infrastructure, facilities and scouting.

Beşiktaş board member Erdal Torunoğulları was recently in London to complete a partnership deal with Chelsea and is expected to discuss an arrangement with Arsenal in the near future.

The Turkish giants began talks with Chelsea last year in a meeting initiated by Gestifute chief Jorge Mendes and his Turkish associate Ahmet Bulut before the Champions League game against Galatasaray.

Jose Mourinho who is represented by Gestifute met with Beşiktaş director of football Önder Özen and gave his backing to towards an agreement between the clubs.

“Players development is important to us,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Habertürk.

“Turkey has a tough league, it is very physical and Beşiktaş are one of the strongest teams in the country.

“I know the club well as they used to have many Portuguese players. It would be useful for a few of our players to play on loan there at some stage.”

Beşiktaş signed Demba Ba from Chelsea this summer and were close to loaning Marko Marin.

The Eagles also have a former Chelsea academy player Gökhan Töre playing regular first team football.

Arsenal youth Oğuzhan Özyakup and former Fulham starlet Kerim Frei Koyunlu also play for Beşiktaş.

The Turkish giants are also interesting in buying a second division Belgium club to expand their player pool and develop the clubs reach abroad.
