Besiktas to play their 175th game in Europe against Liverpool
Besiktas will play their 175th game in European competition this evening against Liverpool at Anfield Road.
Of the 174 games Besiktas have played in Europe, the Black Eagles have won 65 games, lost 75 games while 34 games have resulted in a draw. The Istanbul based side have scored 221 goals and conceded on 247 occasions.
Besiktas’ biggest defeat in Europe came during the 2007-08 season in the Champions League. The Black Eagles succumbed to a 8-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
Slaven Bilic’s side take on Liverpool once again tonight in the Europa League.
Liverpool secured a place in the Round of 32 after being knocked out of the Champions League group stages in third-place.
The Reds last won the Europa League under its former name the UEFA Cup back in 2000-01.
Liverpool will take on Beşiktaş in the Europa League return leg on Thursday 26 February at the Atatürk Olympic.
