Predictions: Can Chelsea stop rampaging Liverpool? Green Crocodiles offer value

Emre Can, Liverpool

We preview Friday’s games from the Super Lig and involving Turkish players – or players of Turkish origin – from around the Continent.

Check out our betting tips and previews below:

Chelsea v Liverpool – WIN

The Reds will be without Emre Can but Dejan Lovren is back which means that Jurgen Klopp will actually be able to play defenders in his defence and not Lucas Leiva as he was forced to do against Leicester City. Liverpool were breathtaking against the Foxes in their 4-1 victory over the Premier League champions. The Reds were also brilliant in the 4-3 win over Arsenal. What both games had in common is that they were played at Anfield.

Liverpool have been phenomenal at home and dismal on the road this season. Klopp will have to get his team to improve their away record if they are to mount a serious title challenge.

Chelsea meanwhile have been efficient home and away. The Blues have not been spectacular but they have been consistent and find themselves in third place on 10 points as a result. The London based outfit will be without captain John Terry who is out with an ankle injury. As a result summer signing David Luiz could make his second debut.

The Blues have only lost once in their last 11 games against Liverpool and are undefeated in 12 of their last 13 home games. Chelsea have a reputation as being a defensive side but they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 league games and have not gone a game this season in the Premier League without scoring at least two goals. Liverpool have a reputation for attacking flair and high scoring games but it is worth pointing out that the Reds have scored the same number of goals as Chelsea. If we also factor in that eight of Chelsea’s last 10 league games have gone Over 2.5 goals it makes the prospect of a high scoring game look all the more likely.

Predition: Over 2.5 goals

Bursaspor v Kayserispor – WIN

Bursaspor managed to end Fenerbahce’s 24 match unbeaten home record last week but they go into the Kayserispor clash with an injury crisis. Emre Tasdemir, Deniz Yilmaz, Serdar Kurtulus, Erdem Ozenc and Merter Yuce are all sidelined for the hosts.

The Green Crocodiles do however, still have enough cover to take care of an uninspiring Kayserispor side – who have just one point this season – in front of their new Timsah (Crocodile) Arena stadium.

Prediction: Bursaspor Win

Karabukspor  Antalyaspor – LOSS

Karabukspor are also facing an injury crisis with Dejan Lazarevic, forwards Mustapha Yatabare and Serdar Deliktas all ruled out. Defender Dany Nounkeu is suspended but there is one bit of good news as Valerica Gaman returns and should start.

Antalyaspor and Karabukspor have had a poor start to the season but both will see this as a winnable game. The Scorpions do have Samuel Eto’o available and in a game like this against weakened opposition he could make the difference. The away side have been priced long. Karabukspor do not deserve to be priced as favourites.

Prediction: Antalyaspor +0.5 (Asian Handicap)
