Predictions: Turkish league previews – Can Basaksehir stay top? Can Fenerbahce be stopped?

The Sunday round of Turkish league – Super Lig – games sees Basaksehir battling to stay top of the league, Galatasaray taking on an Antalyaspor in turmoil, a red hot Fenerbahce and Konyaspor looking for their first win at home.

Check out our betting tips and Super Lig previews below:

Alanyaspor v Istanbul Basaksehir

The Super Lig’s Cinderella story Basaksehir are still in first place, five games into the start of the league. Newly promoted Alanyaspor are in decent form but Abdullah Avci’s boys are one of the most disciplined teams in the league, notoriously difficult to score against and dangerous on the break. Basaksehir are undefeated in their last 14 league games and should be able to hold out against Alanyaspor.

Prediction: Basaksehir Draw No Bet

Galatasaray v Antalyaspor

Galatasaray will be pleased with last weeks draw against Besiktas in the Istanbul derby but a tad disappointed considering they were leading by two goals at the Vodafone Arena. The Lions are facing a bit of an injury crisis with Nigen de Jong, Koray Gunter, Serdar Aziz and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson all out against Antalyaspor. The Scorpions meanwhile are in a bit of a crisis and star striker Samuel Eto’o will not play after clashing with the board. Antalyaspor were always in for a tough game away to Galatasaray but without their star man it would be a huge upset if they were to even leave with a point.

Prediction: Galatasaray Win

Osmanlispor FK v Fenerbahce

Osmanlispor have gone from being a novelty act to a club just about everybody in the league has to take seriously. The Ankara based self-styled Ottomans have a stadium and training ground draped with flags from the Turkish empires of old and statues of ancient warriors spotted around giving a theme park feel. Fenerbahce have finally started to click under Dick Advocaat. The Yellow Canaries  wiped the floor with Kasimpasa before beating Gaziantepspor and then Feyenoord mid-week in the Europa League. Jeremain Lens has been in scintillating form and it is difficult seeing Osmanlispor cope with his sheer power and pace. Emmanuel Emenike is firing again and Robin van Persie is fighting for a place in the team. Simon Kjaer is back in defence and Volkan Sen has returned from suspension. It is all starting to come together for the Istanbul giants and Osmanlispor could be in for a rough ride.

Prediction: Fenerbahce Draw No Bet

Konyaspor v Adanaspor

Konyaspor are without a home win, Adanaspor meanwhile are without an away win. The Anatolian Eagles have not got off to the start many had expected they would but it is only a matter of time before Aykut Kocaman gets his side into gear. Newly promoted Adanaspor could struggle against a Konyaspor desperate for three points in one of the most hostile stadiums in the league for away sides.

Prediction: Konyaspor Win
