Predictions: Turks abroad previews – Ozil to shine for Arsenal, unstoppable Barcelona & Mor from Emre

We take a look at a few games involving Turkish players – or players of Turkish origin – from around the Continent.

Check out our betting tips and previews below:

Red Bull Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund

This one looks pretty exciting! Dortmund look great going forwards but can they defend? Eight of Dortmund’s last nine league games have gone over Over 2.5 goals and that trend looks set to continue against a Leipzig side who are not shy going forwards either. Turkish wonder-kid Emre Mor started against Croatia in the opening round of 2018 World Cup qualifiers for Turkey and put in an impressive shift. Perhaps Thomas Tuchel will give Mor his Bundesliga debut on Saturday.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Arsenal v Southampton

Arsenal returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 victory over Watford last week. Mesut Ozil scored and was back to his best as was star man Alexis Sanchez. Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi are in line to make their debuts after joining before the international break. The Gunners go into the clash in high spirits. Southampton meanwhile are without a win this season.

Prediction: Arsenal win

West Ham v Watford

West Ham have had a rocky start to the season having won just one of their three league games. Things could however, be about to change for the East London based outfit. Summer signing Sofiane Feghouli is available having recovered from a thigh injury over the international break. Simone Zaza, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini are all available as is Turkish international Gokhan Tore. Slaven Bilic will be desperate for a response at home after a rather disappointing start against a Watford side that managed to pick up just one point in their opening three games.

Prediction: West Ham Draw no Bet

Barcelona v Alaves

Arda Turan has been on fire for Barcelona scoring three goals and providing three assists for the La Liga champions this season. The Turkish international has thrived in the absence of Neymar who has been on international duty with Brazil. Turan has been given a more advanced role playing where Neymar usually does and linking up well with Luis Suarez and Messi. Barcelona are almost certain to win but the odds do not offer great value. Barca to win by half time is priced at around 1.30 which is pretty decent as a single play or to boost an accumulator.

Prediction: Barcelona 1st Half Win

Manchester United v Manchester City

The Manchester derby is back and could be more heated than usual with old foes Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho now in charge of City and United, respectively. Both sides have won all three league games this season. City could welcome back Ilkay Gundogan who has been training with the team but it would be a surprise for the Germany international of Turkish origin to start on Saturday. Guardiola has his side playing attacking football as you would expect considering what he did with previous teams he has managed. City have scored the most goals in the league but will be without Sergio Aguerro. Mourinho is renowned for a more cautious approach but there is no denying that he has a wealth of attacking option at his disposal. Expect a heated derby game between two sides not afraid to attack.

Prediction: Over 2 goals (The bet will void if the final result ends with two goals being scored)

Bayer Leverkusen v HSV

Bayer will be desperate to make up for their defeat on the opening game of the season. Expect the home side to dominate HSV from the get go. Turkish international defender Omer Toprak is likely to start and Hakan Calhanoglu will be in high spirits after an impressive display in the 1-1 draw against Croatia – scoring the Crescent Stars only goal of the game.

Prediction: Bayer Win
