Bilic – ‘We are not just playing for Besiktas but also for Turkey’ [divider]
Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic underlined that his side are not just playing for personal glory but that they will also be representing Turkish football in Belgium.
The Black Eagles take on Club Brugge in the Europa League Last 16 on Thursday 12 March.
“We are not just playing for Beşiktaş, we will be representing Turkey, I believe our fans and the country will be backing us in Belgium and back home,” Bilic told Fanatik.

The Süper Lig remained 12th in the UEFA coefficient league ranking after Beşiktaş knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League Round of 32.
The league was in danger of falling behind the Greek league in 13th place which would have meant that even the winner of the Süper Lig would have to qualify for the Champions League through the playoff route.
Beşiktaş are currently the only Turkish side in European competition and are joint first in the Süper Lig on 51 points alongside Galatasaray.
The Black Eagles have never lost against Belgium opposition in European competition.
