“Blame us, shout at us, criticize us” – Arsenal star sends out heartfelt message to fans following 4-0 Liverpool humiliation
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has sent out a heartfelt message to Gunners fans following Sunday’s humiliating defeat.
Ozil played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s 4-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool.
Arsenal have now suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League and find themselves in 16th spot after three games.
Ozil took to social media after the game to apologise for the performance. The Germany international has assured fans that he and his teammates will do everything they can to bounce back in their next game.

“Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game,” Ozil stated on social media.
“We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt.
“Usually I’m too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don’t want to let this match go uncommented before traveling to the DFB Team.
“Nevertheless… Gunners, I’m sorry – especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting. But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment.”
Arsenal take on Bournemouth in their next game on September 9.
