Blind not happy with former Man Utd striker Van Persie not starting every week

Netherlands national team boss Danny Blind has revealed that he is not pleased with Robin van Persie not starting regularly for Fenerbahçe.

Van Persie has himself been critical of Fenerbahçe head coach Vitor Pereira not starting him regularly this season.

The 32-year-old striker has not started in the Yellow Canaries last three league games but has still managed to rack up four goals and an assist in all competitions this season.

Blind was quoted by Football Orange as saying in his press conference, “For him and for us this is not the most ideal situation. You want your players to play. On Thursday he played an entire game against Celtic, but the situation is that one of your main players is not in the starting line-up weekly. ”

Van Persie joined Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal from Manchester United over the summer transfer window but missed the early part of the season due to injury and lacking match fitness.

The Netherlands are currently fourth in Euro 2016 Group A and will have to take over Turkey if they are to stand any chance of making the playoff stages.
