Bordeaux coach Willy Sagnol heaps praise on Emre Can

Bordeaux boss Willy Sagnol has heaped praise on Emre Can following their 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Europa League.

The Red’s looked set to record a comfortable victory when Adam Lallana scored midway though the second half. However, Bordeaux struck back late on in the 81st minute and were unfortunate not to come away with all three points.

“But of course if you want to create opportunities throughout the game then you leave yourself open to counter-attacks and when you have players of the calibre of (Emre) Can, Lallana and (Philippe) Coutinho it makes it difficult,” Sagnol was quoted as saying in the Evening Times.

Can played the full 90 minutes and received a rating of 6.92 from whoscored. Can made one successful tackle, two interceptions and made a total of four clearances during the game.

Can also made 56 passes over the course of the game with an incredible accuracy rate of 95 percent.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping Can can bring the same form to the Norwich game on the weekend as the 21-year-old has only managed an average 81.4 pass accuracy rate up till now in the league.

Can has featured in all of Liverpool’s games this season and is playing in his favoured midfield role.
