Fenerbahçe defender Bruno Alves has ruled out a January transfer despite being linked with the likes of Porto and Benfica.

“I have a contract with Fenerbahçe and want to stay at the club,” Alves said speaking ahead of Portugal’s Euro 2016 qualification game against Armenia.

The Portuguese international also underlined the importance of the game against Armenia.

“The Armenia game is really important,” Alves said.

“Armenia are a strong side and have proven how tough they can be to play against already in this group.

“Of course Serbia and Albania getting punished has made our job easier but we are taking nothing for granted.

“It doesn’t matter if I am a substitute or on the pitch I am always proud to be part of the national team.

“That is what is important at the end of the day and I always respect the managers decisions.”

Alves has been linked with a move away from Turkey this January after falling out of favour with manager İsmail Kartal.

The Portuguese international currently earns €2.3 million per season which could prove to be a stumbling block for the interested parties.

The powerful centre back has made six appearances for Fenerbahce this season.
