Bundesliga side confirms interest in West Ham & Leicester target

Gokhan Inler’s agent Dino Lambert has confirmed that his client is in talks with the Bundesliga side Schalke 04.

“We are in contact with Schalke, but there can be no talk of a signature,” Dino Lamberti, Inler’s agent was quoted as saying by ESPN.

“We have other offers, and I expect a decision next week.

“I will now take a closer look at the infrastructure of the different clubs, and will talk to the coaches and sporting directors. We’ll make a decision after that.”

Leicester City’s newly appointed manager Claudio Ranieri revealed earlier this week that he was close to securing a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso.

The Foxes and West Ham United are also in the race for the 31-year-old according to the Daily Star.

Inler scored one goal in 33 appearances for Napoli in all competitions last season. The Switzerland international has also previously played for Udinese, Zurich and FC Basel.

Leicester pulled off the ‘great-escape’ last season to beat the drop. The foxes ended the season in 14th place with 41 points. Ranieri’s side got off to a winning start in the Premier League following a 4-2 victory over Sunderland yesterday afternoon.
